"Excellent day care in the Endoscopy Unit WGH"

Yesterday I had a colonoscopy at the above unit. From the outset I was impressed by the customer care, which reduce my potential stress level enormously. The process was explained carefully, I felt I was given ample time to ask questions, and the nurses really listened to what I had to say. During the procedure I was reassured by the skill of the doctor, the opportunity to view the monitor screen, and the presence of two nurses, one of whom engaged me in conversation which successfully distracted me from any discomfort. It was a great relief to get the medical report immediately afterwards, and to be provided with a very welcome snack after 28 hours of necessary starvation. The only negative was that the appointment time given on my letter proved to be three quarters of an hour earlier than stated on my arrival. However, this faded into insignificance in the light of the subsequent care.
