"Cannot praise staff enough"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

Throughout pregnancy the care we recieved at Jessops has been excellent but our experience diring the 'final push' has been excellent. I was admitted for induction on 5.6.15 and despite being short staffed and having bed pressures the communication from staff on Rivelin ward was brilliant. My husband and I were kept up to date of developments and staff took the time to reassure us and explain things despite being extremely busy. After developing an acute kidney infection on the 8th, which eventually started my contractions, the efficiency and professionalism which all staff showed in assessing and dealing with the situation was amazing. I felt extremely well cared for and, although concerned for my baby, couldn't have asked for better care for my whole family. After being transferred to labour ward the care continued to be exemplary. Again, the communication from all staff was excellent, both my husband and I were involved in decisions and, where appropriate, could direct our care. We were kept up to date of decision processes, possible outcomes and our expectations wrre managed brilliantly regarding timings, possible delays and risks and outcomes of tteatment. Our baby was eventually delivered on the afternoon of the 9th and after what could have been a very traumatic birth with various complications, my husband and I put the fact that our first baby was born with minimal medical intervention and the experience was ultimately one we will always treasure down to the amazing staff we encountered. The midwives, student midwives, anaesthetists and doctors were incredible and we really cannot thank them enough. The after care we recieved on Whirlow ward was also fantastic from all staff. As a sleep deprived first time mum I'm sure I asked my share of daft questions but every member of staff was happy to go through things with me, taking the time to reassure and explain everything despite their busyness. My husband and I are only full of praise and thanks for our experience at Jessops. We couldn't have asked for a more professional, able and dedicated team to help us with our first steps in parenthood. Thank you all.

Congratulations and thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback. I know time is precious when you are a new mum but I was so pleased to hear it went so well for you, baby and husband. Your kind words will be passed on to all those involved.

Kind regards
