"Patient suggestion."

My husband attended Endoscopy dept for a procedure on Wednesday 10 June 2015. My husband suffers from Parkinson's, Dementia and Atrial Fibrilation amongst other ailments. Because I couldn't go with him into where the procedures are carried out I wrote down all relevant information on him that may have been required. I gave this to the nurse who was attending my husband and mentioned that my husband 's INR result on the same day was 4.1. The nurse spoke to the consultant doing my husbands procedure resulting in my husband's procedure being cancelled as the consultant was not happy to carry it out. Should I have not had the presence of mind to inform the staff of my husbands blood test result, who knows what could have happened, if there had been a mishap. May I suggest that when a patient is asked what medications they are taking they are also asked what their INR is if they are taking blood thinning medicines. I really think that this suggestion could save unpleasant consequences for someone. Thank you to the consultant who attended my husband, sorry I do not have their name.
