"Surgeon, and medical staff were ..."

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Surgeon, and medical staff were execellent, I was at the hospital for couple of days. I was in ward 5 East B.The ward was fairly clean, as I watched a cleaner clean the ward, I was shocked at the way she was using the same cloth for floors and surfaces. One nurse in particular was very unpleasant, but the rest were charming and very helpful.

What could be improved

More supervision at the way cleaners do their job.

Anything else?

A ward sister should check occasionally at how some nurses go about their jobs. In particular the nurse who was very unpleasant. I cannot name her.

The hospital food unfortunately was uneatable, luckily my daughters brought me some food for the short duration.

Thank you for your comments on your stay in 5EB. We're pleased you found our staff charming on the whole but disappointed you experienced problems with one particular nurse. We've taken your other comments on board and would point out that we are always striving to improve standards in cleaning and the food we provide.

Our gynaecology matron and the ward sister on 5EB would be happy to discuss your comments and they are on extensions 36898 and 33885.
