My Mother was admitted to hospital and during her stay had a sigmoidoscopy. After this it was recommended she was referred by to the Colorectal clinic. We were told the appointment would be within 3 weeks.
Given that the sigmoidoscopy was done on the in May I rang the Colorectal clinic in June who informed me that no referral had been received. I then rang the secretary who said that he had not done it but she would try to get him to. I have rung again recently with the same result.
My Mother is getting very distressed about the lack of care she has received and is in discomfort which she feels could be sorted if the department cared and just made the small effort of sorting out this referral.
