After having visited A&E I was requested to go back and see a Doctor in the Fracture Clinic. Upon arrival (having only seen A&E) I was very impressed with the freshness, cleanness and modern feel to the building. The Fracture Clinic wasn't clearly signposted and hospitals can be mazes but there appeared to be a member of staff situated by the 'menu' board that was checking to see that people were okay. When we couldn't find what we wanted they directed us and we found the department easily. Once in Fracture Clinic, the nurse that I spoke to (even though I think I got the protocol wrong) was very pleasant and helpful and sent me off to x-ray immediately, again giving directions on how to get there. The X-Ray area can be quite stressful because outwardly it seems it is all very random but when my name was called it looked as if they did in fact have a system in place, even if they didn't make patients aware of what it was! Once back at the fracture clinic I was seen very quickly and the Doctor was very thorough, friendly and lovely. The receptionist was very friendly when I booked my return appointment and the several members of staff that I spoke to on the phone were very pleasant and helpful when I had to call up subsequently. My experience gave me a lot of trust in this hospital and made me feel reassured that this would be the hospital I should choose to go to should I need medical attention again. the only complaint I would make is the usual - the car parking is ridiculous. We had to pay £6 on the night of the accident (1am) whilst I was waiting in A&E. But I guess it's the same everywhere...
