"Patient drop off area"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital (Paisley) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23)

(as a relative),

Why is the area clearly marked as patient drop/pickup being abused with cars parked there for the duration of visiting hours! And also parked directly opposite thus restricting through traffic-do they not wish to park in the car Park? - I approached a resident policeman to ask about the legalities. This policeman stated that they were too busy and that I should raise the matter with hospital administration. Can you help please? It really makes it awkward for anyone who really has to use this area.

Treatment was good.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear duvat,

Thank you for getting in touch to raise your concerns about the drop off zone at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. If you are a regular attender or visitor to the RAH, you will have seen that there have been improvements made to the front entrance of the hospital in order to make access easier for all types of transport (ambulances, buses, taxis and private cars) and to address some of the problems which you raise here. While this has made some difference to the area at the front of the hospital, it is clear that in your experience there can still be some problems.

I will pass your comments on to the Site Manager at the RAH to note the issues you have experienced and come back with a bit more information as to how parking and the drop off areas are managed.

On another note, I am glad that you had a good experience with your treatment and that all went smoothly for you.

Best Wishes,

Lorna
