"My daughter was treated at this ..."

About: The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore)

(as a relative),

What I liked

My daughter was treated at this Hospital in May 2009 for Scoliosis. The care and professionalism from both Surgeons, Doctors and Nursing staff was second to none. Every stage of her treament was explained and they ensured that she was fully recovered before discharging her. I, and my wife, would have no hesitation in recommending RNOH Stanmore to any parent faced with having to decide which hospital to go to for treatment to their child. First Class.

What could be improved

We understand that the hospital is due for redevelopment which i would have to say is long overdue. Whilst the grounds are nice the buildings have seen far better days and are outdated.

Anything else?

Being honest i would have to say that the patients food is not very appetising, having been prepared off site and transported in daily and then heated in microwaves on the wards. A vital part to recovery which is lacking in presentation and substance.

Thank you for your very positive feedback on the care and treatment your daughter received at the Trust – it is much appreciated. With regard to patient food, we acknowledge your comments and undertake regular review of the quality we provide. We continue to pursue our plans for redevelopment of the hospital.
