What I liked
The nursing and support staff were all lovely and very supportive. My initial appointments to confirm my diagnosis were scheduled very quickly, after the referal from my local consultant.
What could be improved
Patient confidentiality. The results of my bone scan were given to my husband before me. He called with a general enquiry about my up coming admission. The person who told him was supposed to be there to help me deal with my forth coming tretment. She had never spoken to me and as far as I know did not even know Ias married. That phone call could have been from anybody.
Anything else?
Post surgery support could be better. I was sent home to Northampton feeling very isolated. Nobody I came into contact with for physio had come across any one else who had had a Massive Distal Fermural replacement . Seeing staff at Stanmore even once a month would have been helpful.
