Some of the staff are nice but theres the odd few that isnt. My mum kept taking me off the ward for a fag (nurses and doctors were fine with it) then once when we was about to nip out a doctor i had never seen before rudely questioned us then told my mum i have to be back in 5 minutes! I have also been off the ward with a friend whos 18 and the staff were fine with it however they wouldnt allow my boyfriend (19) to take me for a fag. I became very agitated and staff still wouldnt allow ne to go and because of how i was feeling and desperately in need of a fag i resulted in walking off the ward without permission.

Thank you for your post and from the content I think you've left messages for us before under similar circumstances. As you were in our care on the children's ward I think staff would have wanted to be sure that you were with a responsible adult at all times and in this case it would have been your mum. I'm sorry that you felt staff were being difficult not letting you go out with your boyfriend, but they have a duty of care to you as a minor. I'm not sure that staff would have been 'fine' about letting you go out for a cigarette, but if you were agitated and distressed they may have felt it was the better option.
