"Minor Injuries - most useless Nurse Practitioner..."

I visited the Minor Injuries unit tonight, after struggling for a few weeks with a sore wrist. When I saw the Triage Nurse I was extremely happy as they were sympathetic, and listened to me and agreed I should get it checked out. Unfortunately the Nurse Practitioner I saw was the opposite. I have Hypermobility Syndrome which I always mention, and I'm pretty sure that I've suffered a partial dislocation and I've got something trapped in my wrist. I explained all this, and they examined my wrist, felt a slight swelling and said it was a tendon and gave me a splint. When I said that if I didn't move my wrist it seized up and hurt even more, they gave me a leaflet of exercises. When I asked how long it was likely to take to heal, as it's been hurting for 3 weeks and is getting worse, they said it could take 3 weeks, and when I pointed out it's already been 3 weeks, they said "well it could be more than 3 weeks". Basically I felt like they didn't understand what hypermobility is, and didn't really listen to anything I said. Luckily I've got a Drs appointment coming up soon, hopefully they'll be more useful.
