"Very Pleased"

About: Leeds Dental Hospital

The only reason I came along to the walk in clinic is because trying to find a dentist in Leeds is literally like trying to pull teeth! The dentist I had registered with had told me it would take three months to get an apointment and unfortunately, my teeth weren't going to last that long. I attended the clinic on 1 June. I was advised (on this website) that they only take the first four patients normally (although you are entitled to wait to see if they can fit you in). I arrived at 7.50 in the morning and was number 3. Needless to say, as I was leaving the waiting room, I heard the receptionist advising someone of the same. My initial problem was a collapsed tooth and wisdom tooth that were cutting my tongue and cheeks and causing infection. After a consultation with the student dentist, we agreed that they would be able to save one tooth, and could save the wisdom, although in my eyes there was no point as it constantly crumbled and is not visible. The student dentist and the student dental nurse were very professional, polite and constantly talked through what they were doing. My collapsed tooth was filled and restored with a temp filling and my wisdom tooth was removed. Although it took longer than I anticipated, I can't fault the work that was done or their professionalisim. Whilst there, I was advised by one of the dentistry professors that I could register with them and have the work finished (a permanant filling and some minor holes in other teeth filled) as it might be quicker than waiting for my own dentist. When my mouth is healed from the extraction, I am going to book in and go back to have the remaining issues with my teeth fixed since their waiting list is considerably smaller. To anyone considering going, please be aware that there will be a wait, you may not be seen, and it is students who are carrying out the treatment. That said, it is highly professional, clean, communicative and above all else - it is free. Reading some of the reviews on this website, I was expecting the worst, but the treatment I recieved was far better than I was fearing. Well done to Leeds Dental Institute and the lovely students and their professors.

Dear Michelle C

Thank you for taking the time to post your views regarding your recent experience with the Leeds Dental Institute, I was very happy to read that you have had a positive experience and are happy with your treatment..

I have passed your post onto business manager for the Leeds Dental Institute and have asked that they share these with their staff so that they too can know of the wonderful work that they are doing.

With kind regards

Rosie
