What I liked

The consultants were mindful of hygiene.

What could be improved

The Royal Eye Unit is like a factory processing line. Patients are kept waiting for hours past their appointment times and, if you are unlucky enough to be seen late in the afternoon, you leave without a follow up appointment made. There is no way to contact the Outpatients appointments (they do not respond to telephone or email) apart from physically returning to make another appointment. When you are seen by a nurse or consultant it is open plan and your private concerns are shared with all. You must leave your dignity and privacy at the door. The arrangements need a rethink to focus them on patients as individuals.
