"I was admitted from A and E into ..."

About: Kingston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted from A and E into Isabella Ward. This ward was fantastic, first class and wouldnt change a thing!

A and E however was a different story. I was admitted in the early hours of the morning and waited a very long time to be seen by the triage nurse. This was one of the sisters, she didnt introduce herself but I read her name badge, obviosuly will mention no names on here but I will be complaning about her to the hospital. She was EXTREMELY rude and nasty, implying there was nothing wrong with me and I was wasting time which i found very upsetting.

I was seen by the Drs and I was admitted with a gangrenous appendix, so clearly there was something wrong with me. Whilst waiting to go to the Ward this sister had moved into the main department and was one of the nurses looking after me, again she was rude and nasty and I actually cried due to her attitude and comments, I had emergency surgery that day and was relieved to be in the ward and away from that sister in and e.

What could be improved

The A and E sisters attitude and comments in a and e. Am perhaps a communication board could be used in the waiting room of a and e to give people an idea of how long they could be waiting for triage and then to see a doc.

Anything else?

Thanks to the fantastic Isabella ward staff; Drs, Nurses, Students and other housekeeping staff, all brill.
