What I liked
My mother was admitted to hospital with neutropaenia (after chemo). She was left waiting in A+E for 4 hours. On the ward, nurses argued with one another and beds weren't changed. I stayed with my mother every night because I was too scared to leave her alone. This hospital desperately needs to improve its care, and nurses who can't be bothered should not be tolerated. I was told to clean out the bedpans in the sluice because the nurse said it wasn't her job and she was going home. I was forced to do it because my mother couldn't move from her bed.
What could be improved
Everything, communication, monitoring of patients and communication with patients. The hospital was dirty and should have been clened. The linen was not even ironed and it was worn out.
Anything else?
If this is what the NHS stands for now, I find it hard to trust any healthcare in the UK.
