""OT helping me regain movement in my wrist"- The conclusion"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Occupational Therapy

(as the patient),

Well I have had my last appointment with O/T Mandy. After 18 months of sessions I would like to take this opportunity to say THANKS. It has been a long and hard road with plenty of ups and downs, hopefully I'm on a smoother path now.

Mandy has went above and beyond the call of duty to assist with my rehabilitation. I believe if it were not for Mandy's dedication and professionalism my progress would have been slower. At the beginning of this process I thought that I would have made more progress but due to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, which I believe has hampered my overall improvement. A new chapter begins with the Pain Clinic in the hope that they can help me in coping with the pain.

I would like to thank the whole team which includes Mandy, Ruth, Katherine and not forgetting Lynne they are a credit to their profession and don't get enough recognition for their dedication.

Over time you build up a relationship with your therapist and when it's time to leave it can be quite difficult but Mandy has reassured me that I have the tools to cope with whatever comes my way.

So Occupational Hand Therapist Team you are GREAT. I appreciate everything you have done for me especially Mandy. Hopefully I won't need to see you's again but if I do I know I will be in GREAT HANDS! ! ! (Pardon the pun)

Dear gymgirl50,

Thanks for your recent posting and postive comments about the occupational therapy hand therapy team at Monklands. The girls will really appreciate your thanks for the services they have provided, and they will be delighted that they have made such a difference to your progress over the last 18 months.

Complex regional pain syndrome impacts on many aspects of your life, making even the simplest every day task difficult and challenging to deal with. I am delighted that you feel that Mandy and the OT team have enabled your progress, and that you are now on a smoother path to recovery.

I wish you continued success in your future treatment with the chronic pain team.

With best wishes

Janice
