I had to take my 85 year old mum to a&e on Sunday 31st May. After initially and slightly annoyingly having to tell 3 Separate sets of people what the issue was, nobody actually looking at the nasty wound she had suffered, the Service we received was exemplary. (I am sure that the 3 sets of people steps were necessary, but it would have been useful or helpful if the steps were explained, so patients understand and know what to expect. It is nice when patients are not treated as idiots). We settled down in the waiting room for what we thought was going to be a 2.5 hour wait, but within 10 minutes, a nurse beckoned us in and having assessed the wound, asked the doctor to check it. The doctor too was superb. The doctor did not treat us as if we were silly and incapable of understanding medical matters. The doctor was clear and listened to what we had to say. The doctor was also caring and provided my mum with very good advice. The nurse then took over and with the minimum of fuss, sorted the wound. Meanwhile the doctor organised antibiotics, which we were presented with, within 5 minutes of the dressing being applied. I would be surprised if we were on site for longer than 45 minutes. I suspect my mother's age was something to do with the promptness of the assistance. It was greatly appreciated by all. So we all wish to record our most sincere thanks and appreciation for the prompt, efficient and kind service we received. We have no hesitation in endorsing your service and hope that you will pass our comments and reiterated thanks to both the nurse and the doctor.
