Having stayed on the telemetry ward for 12 days for an intracranial EEG, I can only say positive things about the team that have been involved in caring for myself and my family. In my opinion, the staff are second to none with the consultants, nursing staff, physiologists and surgeons all working together to make the long duration required to understand complex conditions such as epilepsy as easy and painless as possible. I had over 100 fits in the time and each and every time the consistency of care afforded to check that after each one that I was ok was incredible. I am aware that I will have to repeat the stay in the future due to the complex form of my fits and I have no concerns whatsoever about doing so. There is no single bullet that will fix a brain and optimism has to be tempered with realism when surgery is considered an option and all the staff took the time to make sure I understood this in a way that was sensitive. An incredible team.
