I was recommended to attend the 12 session physiotherapy program at Ashford Hospital following a cardiac incident.. I was a bit concerned when I attended the initial assessment but the staff were extremely professional and very friendly. They explained everything in detail and in plain language that was easy to understand. I had a few concerns about the medication I had been given but they spent time to explain things to me and advised me to see my GP. The exercise sessions were led in a friendly manner by the physiotherapists who gave lots of encouragement, advice and explanation about the exercises we were performing. The cardiac nurses and physiotherapists always kept an eye on us and I felt safe knowing they were there to help. At the start of the program I was unfit and felt very depressed. After completing the program my wife says I am a different man with lots of energy and back to my old self. I would strongly recommend attending this program to anyone who has had a heart problem and have been given the opportunity to participate. I can't thank all the cardiac rehab staff enough but thank you for your dedication and hard work. I hope I'm never in a situation where I have to see the physiotherapists again but if I am I know I will be looked after, thank you :)
