"Varicose treatment"

About: Highgate Private Hospital

My experience at Highgate Hospital was overall: very good. The staff were extremely professional, friendly and reassuring and I was made to feel very comfortable. I liked the fact that my ID was checked at every stage and that staff introduced themselves - which sometimes doesn't happen. It sounds simple, but this kind of care is really reassuring. Initially, when waiting for my surgery appointment (after seeing a consultant at the Appleby Centre), my records got lost, so there was a long delay getting an appointment, but when I flagged this up - someone at Surgerypod (I think) was really effective in getting me back on track for an appointment. They contacted all relevant people at once and attached records - so I got back into the system fast. There were a couple of issues: The Highgate surgeon did not have my ultrasound records - not sure if they were not forwarded on by the Appleby Centre?/St Barts?/Royal London or requested by Highgate? But they asked me to confirm my treatment (I guess to cross reference the notes they had), but I wasn't sure exactly what I was due to have - so it'd also be good for the patient to receive some details of the procedure too. After my pre-assessment at Highgate, I had a verbal agreement for an appointment - and assumed this was how it was done (so I booked time off work). When I didn't receive a letter of confirmation - I was told this was not the way surgery appointments were booked, and only found out then, that an appointment wasn't yet booked. But I didn't get any other option to book an appointment - so I think the process is a bit flawed there. On the day, the staff were super nice after the procedure, but my care instructions were verbal - so I ended up taking notes on my phone - which was ok, but maybe a printed checklist would be useful - so no info is left off. When I took notes, I read them back ok, but they proved to be a bit ambiguous when I re read them at home. A print out would be better. Overall, I felt comfortable and cared for at Highgate, with just a couple of issues to address. Thank you!
