This is a review of the service we received over a year ago from the Burns unit and clinic at the hospital. I wish I had got around sooner to say a massive thank you to all the staff that helped my little girl. My 10month old daughter had suffered a burn in-between two fingers on her grandparents fireplace earlier that day. We first took her to our local small hospital who referred us to stepping hill at Stockport. We waited five hours to be victimised at this hospital in the childrens a & e before eventually being transferred to Manchester. By the time we arrived here it was 6pm and I was told we would have to stay in overnight so she could be seen by a consultant. We spent 3 days in the hospital in total before being discharged but I cannot fault how well looked after and kind all the staff were and what a great job they did. We then had to visit the Burns clinic weekly for the burn to be checked and the staff there were amazing along with the Physios who kept coming to check on my little ones progress as the burn was in a very awkward place on her fingers. Her burn healed better than expected and within 6 weeks after a brief visit to the plastic surgeon we were discharged. You can tell what a great job they did because one year on it looks fully healed. So a big thank you basically! Keep up the good work.
