"Will someone please tell me what is going on...?!"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

As I write this I am still in hospital- A&E Observational Unit. I really just want to know what’s going on and a reasonable explanation as to why it is happening. I was sent to A&E by my GP on Weds 27 of May ( I spent close to 4hrs there, with more than 3 hours of no contact & little or no information); because I am at risk as developing a more serious condition; one which could be irreversible. A concern that was also shared by my medical team here (A&E then Orthopaedic/Spinal Team). Enough to have me admitted on the 27 of May. As I have been told by one of the team this escalation “can happen within hours”. I won’t claim to be most poorly person on this floor or in the hospital. I just don’t understand how you can have such concerns about a patient and have this ‘state of limbo’ that I am currently experiencing. I was supposed to be transferred to another hospital with an on call spinal surgeon yesterday 28 May, with the possibility of having surgery. As I write this. That is yet to happen. ***I must say the nurses, physio and other support staff on my floor have been absolutely BRILLIANT!!!! I am only now disappointed at the conduct of the medical team. Keeping a patient consistently informed is important (and doing so face to face is vital too).
