In the last couple of years i have had two babies and 3 major surgeries at Hinchingbrooke. From clinic appointment to discharge i have been extremely happy with the care i received. The maternity services is second to none. From Consultants, to Midwives, to MCAs and Domestics. Each one in the team work so hard. With one part missing the Delivery suite and Lilac could not function as well as it does. Yes, the staff are busy. Busy looking after you or your wife and new baby. Nothing is to much, and willing to help from nappy changing to bed baths. I heard people moan about how they asked for something and had to wait a little longer than they exspect or discharge took to long. But if the midwives and MCA is not with you they are helping someone else. I personaly would rather they help a poorly baby or a mum who just had a csection than me moaning i would like a fresh jug of water (that are in the fridge, totally accessible). I came away feeling looked after and that i mattered to them in their work. A smile from an MCA and being asked if there was anything i needed made a huge difference. As for breast feeding advice, everyone was willing to spend the time with me. Tweeking little bits here and there untill it all slotted into place. I went home a confident breast feeding mum. On the general side (juniper is only place i have been) was great. Help was there when needed and pain relief was prompt. Both HCA and nurses worked very hard and could not be fulted. Again it was busy, but busy because they was doing their jobs and caring fir their patents.
"A wonderful hospital"
