"Certainly not what we expected"

About: St Bartholomew's Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My husband has been treated at UCLH for several years. Although some delays are expected when hospitals relocate, I felt yesterdays first outpatient appt was nothing short of a farce.

Arrived before appt time for regular tests that took way past 2hrs after appt time. Returned to the clinic reception to be told there were several (5 ) more patients in front of him.

With the added stress of travelling and arriving well in time, the travel home through what would be rush hour was too much to even contemplate.

He left before being seen with the words to the nurse being when the clinic is sorted out properly I shall return. This is certainly not what he expected after reading many rave reviews about St Bartholemews Hospital.

Dear smurphy

We are extremely sorry to read of your husbands and your experience during his regular test visit to the cardiology service at Barts. Your feedback has been passed over to the general manager for cardiology to see.

We would like to look into the issues you have raised here in more detail and ask that you contact John Tanguay, General Manager at john.tanguay@bartshealth.nhs.uk to provide more detail about your experience so that we are able to improve the service for your husband, yourself and for others where we can.

Best wishes

Barts Health NHS Trust
