About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I attended on the 26th of May for an angiogram following a referral by my GP for suspected heart trouble. I was nervous and more than a little apprehensive. Fortunately the staff at the unit are great. They made me feel welcome and put me at my ease straight away. Nothing was too much trouble and they answered all my (occasionally dumbass) questions to reassure me. Everyone was professional yet approachable and the procedure went ahead without a hitch. The only complaint I have is the absolutely dire choice of background music. Trust me, The Smiths have no place in a hospital. The second choice of Fleetwood Mac was a far better option, even if my singing along distracted the staff a little. Thank you for a good hospital experience, I will quite happily recommend the hospital to family and friends.

Thank you for your very kind comments about the staff and service provided to you in the Cardiac Unit. We understand the anxiety caused to patients who are undergoing investigations and are pleased to hear that the staff did everything they could to make you feel at ease. We will take the opportunity to share your lovely comments with the staff who will be greatly encouraged by your feedback. We also note your comments regarding the choice of music and will feed this back to the team also. Thank you once again.
