Currently there is none. My husband's appointment in March with the Parkinson's nurse was cancelled as both nurses left at the same time. The hospital did not tell us this, we found out from elsewhere. The hospital has not told us whether new nurses have been appointed or when we might see one. My husband had an appointment with the neurologist in May. This too was cancelled without explanation or an alternative appointment being offered. When I contacted teh hospital I was told that they could offer nothing and the next available appointment is in January 2016. When I asked what we were supposed to do until then I was was told 'I have no idea, I'm sorry there's absolutely nothing I can do to help'. Thus - no care in spite of his condition deteriorating and he being in need of help. Emails to the hospital go largely unacknowledged. My one reply said that the hospital is 'committed to providing the best possible care for all patients'. Individuals are usually caring. Management seems unaware of the impact their decisions have on patients as they display callous indifference. Neurology, I was told, is in a mess. It must be a soul destroying place to work. Fine words are easy. Action is needed, communication would be appreciated too. Angry? You bet. Couldn't have put it better myself.
