What I liked
I recently underwent day surgery at St Thomas'. From the moment of admission, I was treated with textbook efficiency and care. The consultant, anaesthetist, doctors and nurses were all uniformly superb. They were smiling, friendly, reassuring and encouraging. The entire day surgery unit seemed the model of efficiency - at no point was I left unattended or waiting. Staff - especially in Recovery - were so caring and attentive, it is impossible to find fault.
I am so grateful to this hospital and its magnificent staff. Too many find fault with the NHS, but this experience could NOT have been bettered. I am glad and delighted that St Thomas' is my local hospital and I am proud of my NHS and everything it stands for.
What could be improved
Almost impossible to find fault. Although it's not the hospital's issue, it does seem pitiful that carers collecting patients from day surgery cannot park on site and have to pay the Congestion Charge!
Anything else?
I recommend this hospital to anyone. There is a real professional "buzz" about the place. Of course, the staff are professional and well-trained, but they are genuinely friendly and helpful, too.
Thank you all so much!
