About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

(as the patient),

What I liked

Overall, I was very happy with the care that I received at St Thomas' - the antenatal, during labour & birth, and also the postnatal care.

The place was clean & I was treated very well, even though it's a busy hospital. I had a room all to myself during labour, that looked out over the Thames, Big Ben & London Eye. I stayed there in labour for about 26 hours, so it was nice to have a decent room, with my own little en-suite bathroom (again, very clean!).

Anything else?

I had a really awful epidural experience, because the anaesthetist only got it right on his FOURTH try! It was truly horrible.

We think there are elements of our post-natal care, in particular, that have improved lately and it's good to hear that your experiences confirm that. Please accept our apologies for the epidural experience.
