"Bottle feeding and not breast feeding promoted at Queen's Hospital"

I recently gave birth to my 2nd child in the new Queen's hospital in Romford Essex. I was disgusted when they tried to force me to give my newborn daughter a bottle. I was breastfeeding in the early hours of the morning in hospital and as my daughter was crying was told to give her a bottle. I declined this offer but was still given bottles, then about 10 minutes later was told that I was starving my baby and why didn't I just give her a bottle so everyone could have a peaceful night. After having a long labour and feeling vulnerable you don't need this when you could just do with a bit of support. I was told that my milk wasn't in yet and when I replied milk doesn't come in until the 3rd day and that my baby would be getting colostrums at this stage they seemed a bit taken aback that I knew what I was talking about. First time mums might not know this and may take the advice I was given and feed their babies with a bottle. I was disgusted and upset by this attitude as I thought breastfeeding was meant to be encouraged and "breast is best"!
