"Where am I supposed to be Queens Square or UCLH?"

About: National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - Queen Square

Here I am again leaving another review about UCLH Euston Tower, and Neurology in Queens Square. Yesterday - Bank Holiday - I received a reminder text about my appointment at UCLH Euston Tower. Strange to my knowledge I don't have an appointment with UCLH Euston Tower. So I called them, and apparently I have an appointment with my consultant next week. I informed a very helpful member of staff that this would be in relation to an MRI scan which I haven't had yet, This despite the fact I rang the hospital last year!!! after the 2014 appointment at UCLH with my consultant. I tried to make an MRI appointment, but was told that it was to soon to book. When I called UCLH 2 months later I was told the appointment would automatically be made closer to the appointment that is booked for next week! - well that clearly didn't happen. So today when I called, I was told that the MRI scan should be at Queens Square not at UCLH, so I should call Queens Square and sort this out! This is exactly what happened last year - except when I arrived at Queens Square I was told I should be in UCLH. (which made me late for the appointment, and as you can imagine no-one was pleased to see me turn up late, and not much interested that I had already been to Queens Square that morning!) Apparently my records state that I am a Queens Square patient, despite the fact that I see my consultant at UCLH. I now have to try and make a MRI appointment at Queens Square, I have to then contact UCLH and rearrange my consultant appointment for this year (the one I didn't know I had) What a delight! I can only hope that this is my last appointment with this consultant because if he tells me I have to go through this again next year I don't know what I'll say.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back to us. We are very sorry to hear about your recent experience of MRI bookings at UCLH. We would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) via pals@uclh.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3448 3237 so that we can look into this.
