"Parking machines"

About: Freeman Hospital

Had unexpectedly long out patient appointment. Did not have enough cash for the parking machine. Cash machine broken in freeman and no way to get money to pay as card paying not available in the car park. Please could you review the parking pay facilities as this caused undue stress for my mother in law who has mobility problems.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on NHS Choices following your recent visit to the Freeman Hospital. Can we please offer sincere apologies to you and your mother-in-law for the additional stress as a result of the problems you encountered with payment at the car park and cash machine. Please be assured that we take these issues very seriously and are currently tendering for a new infrastructure within all of the Trust’s car parks. The new system will allow for card payment at the car park ticket machines and will also enable ‘pay on exit’ so that patients only pay for the time that they are in the hospital. Thank you once again for bringing these issues to our attention.
