"found team dismissive and unorganised."

About: Leighton Hospital

Gave birth to my daughter on 04.02.15. Phoned to advise of arrival at Leighton, upon arrival was left stood outside for 10 mins prior to being sat in the waiting area for 45 minutes. After complaint from partner was taken to birthing suite where I advised I would like the birthing pool. I was told it was too soon for pain relief an was left alone again. After 20 minutes the midwife returned upon another call from my partner and questionned my partner as to whether I still wished to use the birthing pool. The pool was then turned on, but by this time it was too late and my daughter was born. The midwife failed to speak to me directly and spoke over me to my partner. I am very dissapointed with the experience and wholeheartedly believe it would have been best to stay at home in the bath, where some level of pain relief was supplied. I would not arrange a birth at this facility again.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. I am really disappointed that your birth experience was not what you wanted and would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss your feedback further so that we can learn lessons from what you experienced. We want all our mothers to feel positive about their birthing experiences and I am very sorry that this did not happen for you. If you would like to discuss your birth experience further please do not hesitate to contact me on 01270 278063. Kind regards Sarah Wedgwood, MLU manager
