This was my second visit for orthopaedic surgery, the first being in August 2014. On the second occasion I had to stay overnight. Everything went really well. I saw the anaesthetist and surgeon beforehand and checked that I understood what would be happening and what care I would need afterwards. My only complaint, which isn't a real complaint, is that I remember absolutely nothing of what happened afterwards. I am told I spoke to the consultant whilst in recovery and again when back in my room but have no recollection of this. I also don't remember eating, drinking or taking my tablets, although I do remember being given liquid morphine. I hate not knowing what I said to the consultant or what the consultant said to me because they must have thought I was awake.
