"I was given an appointment in ..."

About: The Whittington Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was given an appointment in dermatology but this was brought forward without my knowledge while I was on holiday. When I arrived on the date I had been given I was told that my appointment was the previous day and I had missed it. The receptionist was rude when I complained and said I would have to wait 3 weeks for a new appointment. I had checked on the Choices website the day I attended and this was still given as the date of my appointment. Some weeks later I was sent a letter berating me for not attending and implying that they had reluctantly agreed to see me at a later date!

What could be improved

Don't bring appointments forward unless you know the patient has been contacted and can come on that day!

If an appointment date has changed, change it on the website.
