"Elderly mothers care"

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

There is a total lack of communication between departments everything has to repeated endlessly . Asking an 83 year old what tablets and what milligrams she is on whilst in A and E after having a stroke is ludicrous! Doctors who don't want to listen to the patients story as they don't deal with that. One doctors was talking to another patient about treatment I looked up to find they thought the patient was my mother when I told them they were like oh ok!!! Biggest problem is total lack of communication between departments

Thank you for your feedback regarding the emergency department. I am sorry that your mother's care did not meet the high standards we aim to provide. I have shared these comments with the clinical leaders, however, if you wish to discuss your individual circumstances further please feel free to contact our customer care team on 01256 486766 or email customercare@hhft.nhs.uk.
