After HMS Kent Homecoming with my grandson aboard,I was taken ill. An ambulance was Sent for and I was given treatment by two paramedics. They were absolutely brilliant in both their kindness and professionalism .Please pass on my sincere thanks for their help. After some time it was decided to take me to the A&E dept at your hospital.Admitted almost at once a nurse made me comfortable whilst other staff were deciding what treatment was required. It was then decided to take me to the actual A& E ward (I think) where I met a nurse and doctor. Various blood tests were taken and I was also sent for a chest x Ray. During the wait for results, the doctor kept me informed of the progress in determering just what was the diagnosis was. The Nurse was reassuring all the time and their professional manner was to be admired . Please pass on my very sincere thanks to both the doctor and nurse. After some time the consultant came to see me, they carried out some further tests and eventually discharged me saying that I had probably been infected with a viral chest infection. I was given an antibiotic prescription ,just in case and left the hospital about 17.30 Feeling almost back to normal and now having time to reflect on my experience,I would like to thank all concerned most sincerely for the treatment I recieved and to congratulate you and all the staff for running a first class, dare I say 5 star hospital. Yours very sincerely Ralph Williams
