"Excellent care"

My mother was a heart patient from Wales who was a patient on Princess Alexandra Ward during March/April. We all felt reassured that she was in the right place. The nursing care was exemplary- they were very knowledgeable, able to deal with complex medical and IT equipment but basic nursing care was never ever an issue. As a University lecturer, I am used to interacting with this age group - I found these young nurses to be professional, intelligent and well read; I am sure they will be able to work anywhere in the world after working in this hospital. My mother was very satisfied with the food - so was my Dad who saw a lot of the canteen downstairs. I recommend the coffee in the cafeteria! The staff in the canteen and cafeteria were really nice too which mattered when one was spending so many days in a location where you felt totally lost. The same sex accommodation - patients are in different bays. The toilets/showers tend to have male/female on the door, however my mother kept discovering men in the ladies cubicles who didn't even bother to lock the door.
