"Breast screening service. Appointment times"

About: Wharfedale Hospital

I attend the breast screening service at wharfedale hospital. My appointment was for 10.45 am. When I arrived there was one other lady in the waiting room, who told me she had an appointment 10mins after mine. However she was called in before me, begging the question, why give appointment slots if they are not followed. My appointment was not on time , due to fact that it appears that if a patient turns up early they are seen first. While in room having my mammography I was not offered a gown to wear, just asked to remove everything above the waist! I felt exposed and I felt my dignity had been ignored.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

I am very sorry to read that you have had such a distressing time.

I have passed your post onto the Matron and business manager for Wharfedale General Hospital and have asked that they address this matter, however, to enable us to thoroughly investigate the issues you have raised we would require further information, If you would like to discuss this further I would ask that you contact the Trusts Patient, Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 206 6261 or alternatively you can email them at pateintexperience.leedsth@nhs.net

With kind regards

Rosie
