My mother was taken into hospital by ambulance in the early hours of 7 May. She had slipped on kitchen floor earlier on in the day but didn't do anything about it until after midnight when we realised that she couldn't get up out of her seat or walk upstairs due to the pain becoming progressively worse. An ambulance was called which arrived within 10 minutes....the paramedics were very nice and took good care of my mother, I cannot fault them in any way. Once in A and E she did have a bit of a wait, but that is understandable when there are also plenty of other people waiting to be seen before her. Eventually she was seen by a Consultant who was the most kind, thoughtful and caring person anyone could wish to meet at a hospital. They completely put her at ease and sent her for x-ray to see if anything was broken. It turned out to be badly bruised and torn muscles in her back, but nothing was too much trouble for the consultant, they went out of their way to help her such as helping her to get down from the bed, putting her shoes on, walking with her to the toilet and waiting for her, and finally when we were leaving after being discharged the consultant walked my mum outside the building and waited with her while I collected my car from the car park and they helped her get into the car. This consultant is an asset to that department and works extremely hard and I commend them for their professional approach... they are an Angel from above! I just want to say a big, big Thank you to theConsultant and the Paramedics.
