"Attempting to get an appointment"

About: City Health Care Partnership CIC / GPSI sexual health and women's service

(as the patient),

I work full time, therefore find it difficult to get to the doctors if I have an issue. Therefore, I looked up the Conifer Sexual Health opening times and saw that they open at 8am, sometimes 1 hour and 45 minutes before I start work, and 45 minutes on a couple of other days. I thought, great, I will be able to get in there first before many other people show up, be seen before work - no problem.

However, I have sat in there for two days from 8am, one until 8. 40 when I needed to leave to get to work, and one until 9. 40. Having to leave, I understood that as a walk in I might not get seen, so the receptionist made me an appointment.

I went to my appointment at 20 past 1, moving my dinner at work so that I could go. I have still not been seen. I understand that these things run behind, but especially as someone who has deliberately booked an appointment because I don't have the spare time any other time than my dinner at work, it gets very frustrating when you know you have a problem and you cannot be seen. Found it disgraceful and it has made me very angry.

Dear silvester,

We are extremely sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience within the service. We have recently implemented a new electronic patient record system and this has resulted in some delays in appointment times.

We have also changed the current model of working to try to make improvements within the service and therefore we very much value patient feedback about your experience so that we can resolve matters and continue to make improvements. If you would like to contact me directly on 01482 336355 directly I would be more than happy to discuss the issues raised and arrange an appointment.

Debra Sutherland, Administration Manager, Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Service
