First things first. The staff are excellent and will help all they can.... but they couldn't find out where my wife had been sent too!! The feeling I get is that there is no support for the front line carers. I called to find out how my wife was and was told she'd 'had an ultrasound scan and she was fine', Excuse me? She's well over 60 and in there for an emergency operation, not to have a baby! Is there no IT screen on the nurses station with up-to-date info in it?? Could this be why my wife was 'unobtainable' for an hour or so? At the time of writing, my wife has been in your hospital for 36 hours waiting for an 'emergency' operation. I haven't seen on the news that there was a major incident in the area so can't understand the delay and would like to know why there was such a long one. I'd love some feedback..... but I'm not holding my breath.
