"Children's a and E"

My 8 year old daughter was took there by my husband last week (11/5/2015) after becoming unwell with stomach pains, lack of appetite, diarrhoea and a limp. She had classic signs of appendicitis. After waiting hours the doctor came and said it was a pulled muscle. On Wednesday 13th may, I took her back to a and e, and said I was sure it was not a pulled muscle, which a nurse practitioner said I think it is. I was made to feel like a complete nuisance! After doing blood tests mainly to shut me up they came back abnormal and she was admitted to the ward to be seen by surgeon. Surgeon registrar came after 8 hours and basically said it wasn't appendicitis but they will observe over night. The surgeon consultant came and said they were convinced it was appendicitis, and decided to do a diagnostic laparoscopy. Within 2 hours she was operated on. And guess what? It was appendicitis. If I didn't push it doesn't bear thinking about what could happen. We all make mistakes but by this type of misdiagnoses and inability to listen to parents they are messing with our children's lives! May I add the staff who looked after us on ward f64 were amazing other than Thursdays (14/5/3015) night staff, who were ignorant to my daughters needs (1st hospital admission, and she was weepy after the surgery and is ADHD, odd and separation anxiety disorder)
