"Extremely knowledgeable and patient OT"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I attended for advice on managing osteoarthritis symptoms in my hands. Kim, the occupational therapist, was extremely knowledgeable and gave me lots of advice including exercises, tips on how to change the way I did tasks, on managing symptoms and on lots of gadgets which can make tasks much easier to carry out.

I am very appreciative of the time she spent with me going through this process and am sure that this advice will stand me in good stead now and in the future as I gradually make changes to the habits I have formed over the years. Thank you.

Dear Apprec1at1ve Pat1ent,

Thank you for your very positive comments regarding your recent occupational therapy treatment. I will ensure that Kim and the rheumatology OT team receive your feedback.

It is important to occupational therapists that we help you to achieve maximum independence, and that you are provided with the appropriate information to help you to look after your joints, and make the right decisions and choices about how to manage your everyday tasks.

I am delighted that you found your recent occupational therapy input helpful, and would like to wish you continued progress as you put your new techniques into practice.

Best wishes

Janice
