"A big thank you to midwives during my labour"

Me and my husband would like to thank all the staff at Kings Mill maternity ward who helped us bring our beautiful baby boy in the world and for the care received afterwards. We went in at 7am on the 30th April and after a long labour, had an emergency caesarean on 1st May and was discharged on the 3rd May.

During this time, we met a lot of staff and I can honestly say we have been so impressed with the standard of care received from every member of staff who we came across. Nothing was too much trouble for them and staff were so friendly, calming and reassuring. They explained what was happening at each stage and made sure we knew what was going on.

A big thank you to midwifes Julie Horden and Nicky Count who was with us most of the labour. They were very reassuring and patient throughout and very professional. Also thank you to the theatre staff, midwifes and other staff on the E4 ward. The staff really are a credit to the hospital.

We are always too quick to complain but never compliment when things are good and would like to see the hard work of these staff recognised.
