"Exceptional Heart Service"

About: Freeman Hospital

I was discharged yesterday from Ward 24A after four days, during which time I had a planned heart operation and two days later a pacemaker fitted. Afterwards I was cared for by the fantastic nursing staff on Ward 24A. This was the first time in 65 years I had been an inpatient in hospital and I was not looking forward to my stay. This was an unnecessary worry. I was kept fully informed during each procedure, the nursing staff were the best anyone could wish for and I can't thank them enough. Sometimes you negative comments, however in my experience I have nothing but good comments praise and respect for this five star rating service.

Many thanks for taking the time to post your positive comments on NHS Choices regarding your care in Cardiothoracic Services. The staff within all the departments in Cardiothoracic Services work very hard to ensure that care is streamlined for their patients, while helping patients remain comfortable and relaxed during their stay. We were particularly pleased to note that you found the nursing care to be of a high standard and that the communication was effective. We have shared your feedback with all staff involved who are delighted with your positive experience during your first stay with us as an inpatient. Thank you once again for your kind comments.
