Sent: 07 May 2015 13:37 To: Service, Customer Subject: Excellent Care My husband & I wish to thank all the staff who cared for him so well during his 4 day stay last weekend in the Acute Cardiac unit, via A&E. We were both impressed by the level of care provided by all staff - medical, nursing and ancillary in both departments. My husband was seen promptly & monitored constantly throughout his stay. Every effort was made to put him at his ease and make sure that he understood what was happening. He was cared for competently, in a dignified manner with kindness, politeness & humour which lifted his mood & instilled confidence in his treatment. I trained as an SRN 55 years ago & my standards are high! Hospitals take a lot of flak for failings beyond their control. The problems lie in the community where it is almost impossible to care for people adequately in their own homes. Providing the necessary equipment to enable this takes time & results in “bed-blocking”. You know this only too well but I thought you might like to know that some of us, out here, understand & appreciate all that you achieve, despite all the difficulties. Please would you pass this letter on to the Acute Cardiac Unit & A&E with our grateful thanks? Derek & Gillian Langston
