"Amazing service!"

About: Homerton University Hospital

I was admitted to Homerton twice this week and both times were amazing. Both time with seizures The first time I came in in an ambulance in a bed the first time and was taken straight to a cubicle where very friendly and funny nurses came over to take my blood and made me feel comfortable. The first nurse was lovely. When fitting a cannula into me, they made sure to make me feel at ease, and has also been the best at fitting on in me! The second nurse I saw also made me feel really comfortable and where I was situated was right near the nurses station. While I was there, I experience several seizures but the staff where amazing and reacted quickly to them and made sure that I had aftercare, such as reassuring me and telling me that everything was fine. When I was discharged, I had another seizure in the lobby area of the building and the doctors came straight over with a bed and got me back into a room. I can't remember much from that point as I was very groggy but my partner and his sister informed me that they were discussing my mental health as the seizures looked very similar to PNES. They also spoke about getting referral to the psychiatrist. The second time I was admitted, I managed to walk to a chair while they waited for a free cubical, I had a seizure on the chair, a nurse sat beside me and made sure that I was alright and then when I came round they looked after me until a cubical was free. I had a few more seizures while in the cubical but again the staff were amazing and took their time with me and when I didn't want an ECG done (because I felt really groggy and confused) the nurse understood, unfortunately, I had another seizure but once again, the staff were amazing. A wonderful doctor the came in and explained that it was PNES and that they had written referrals to people for me to see. They also explained with PNES was and ways for me to look after myself until I got the right help. Overall, it was amazing the help I received and the staff where extremely helpful and very funny, thank you to all the staff that work in the A+E department, they are God sends.
