I have had a really good experience of King's maternity services having given birth twice in the last 3 years. This was particularly important as I had some difficulties with the first birth. I had excellent midwives both times and difficulties experienced by my firstborn baby son meant we received additional support from the special care baby unit as well as additional close care from the postnatal ward. Of particular note and commendation has to be the counselling service from the Harris Birthright unit I was offered following a challenging first birth that supported me in the months following. This counselling service not only greatly supported me as I processed the birth experience and looked after a newborn, it also helped me manage worries in the run up to the second birth and directly contributed to a swift and easier birthing process.
