"Our experience on Acorn Ward"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

My 3 year old son had eye surgery. We received a call on the Wednesday with an option for surgery the following Monday as they'd had a cancellation. We took this opportunity. We were seen in the eye clinic outpatients and on Acorn Ward on the Thursday for pre-assessment. We were then admitted on Monday morning. I have to say the whole process right through from being seen in clinic through to discharge post surgery was absolutely excellent. All of the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and continually offered us reassurance and support. I was particularly anxious about the anaesthetic but I needn't have been. The nurse who looked after my son during his stay on the ward was excellent. I can't praise everyone enough.
