"Maternity"

There was only one midwife who was genuinely nice and could be bothered to do their job. One of the staff members was constantly being nasty saying I was not even 3cm when I was in absolute agony! And been checked by two other midwifes so said I was at least 6. This midwife was snotty the whole time I was there. I got an epidural and the midwife said "you should be at home, not be having that, you're not far enough along (when not long after the epidural I was ready to push) Then when I was in the second stage of labour (pushing) another midwife got angry with me for swearing. I understand swearing is wrong, but I hadn't a clue what to expect, this was my first baby and was in the most excruciating pain I'd ever felt. The midwife threatened to kick my partner out if I swore again, how is that going to calm me down? The midwife should have been comforting and supportive and helped me with breathing techniques etc. Anyway, I stopped swearing as I wanted my partner to be there for the birth of our baby boy. I was in the second stage of labour for 2 hours and 11 mins, now that not only so painful for me but was dangerous for my baby, he was stuck. I begged and I mean begged, pleaded for them to help me, cut me, use forceps, wiggle his head a little to get things moving and was told no. Then when my baby finally came out, they didn't get him, they just let him fall to the bed, I could feel his little legs kicking of my thighs. During my stitches they used a catheter, which was left in all day and night untill about 11 at night, to which I begged for it out. Then the member of staff just said "sit down" so I went to lie down as it would be more comfortable and they just whipped it out before I had even sat down. I even up being rushed back in with a serious kidney infection due to the catheter. My whole experience was awful, I will never go back to maternity. It was genuinely appalling, I didn't feel comfortable, I wasn't respected, felt like they just couldn't be bothered. I advise any women going here to change hospital!
